Japan is dead! Spiritually.
When the Allies nuked Japan and the latter surrendered, the Shinto Pantheon was forced into hiding, and their power base was left fractured, with faith in the divine order being shattered into pieces by the West.
The islands of Japan were overrun by Youkai before the Hellenistic forces subjugated the island. Seemingly, every trace of Mystical Japan was erased from the country and colonized by the Eastern front of Mount Olympus.
Fast forward to the future and almost five years since Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus put a stop to the Gigantomachy, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka is spirited away to ANHS after following a promise that the school could shield him from his father.
If only he knew he was stepping into the role of Eastern Cannon Fodder, he would've never boarded that damn bus.
