Bow Down | Désiré Doué

NEVAEH CARTER HAS NEVER HAD TO BOW DOWN TO ANYONE.

Being Beyoncé and Jay-Z's daughter comes with certain privileges-and Nevaeh has never been shy about enjoying every single one of them.

She has the fame.
The money.
The influence.
The confidence.

And, according to everyone who knows her, an attitude to match.

Then she meets Désiré Doué.

He isn't impressed by her last name. He doesn't care about her followers, her designer wardrobe, or the fact that she can walk into almost anywhere and have the doors opened for her.

Worse?

He tells her.

Day after day, Désiré has a way of bringing Nevaeh back down to earth, challenging her assumptions and refusing to treat her like she's untouchable.

She calls him annoying.

He calls her spoiled.

Neither of them expects the irritation to turn into something neither can quite explain.

Because sometimes the person who refuses to bow down to you is the one who teaches you that you never needed everyone else to.

And Nevaeh Carter has never met anyone like Désiré Doué.
