After Harry discovers through Snape's memories that he is a Horcrux, he reveals this heavy truth to those fighting against the Dark Lord. He hopes for sympathy, denial, or perhaps for someone to hold him and insist it is not his responsibility to die for the cause. Instead, he is met with cold assertions that Dumbledore was infallible and that his sacrifice is simply a necessary requirement.
