A masquerade ball. A thousand guests. Two face-changing serial killers hiding somewhere behind the masks.
It was supposed to be the perfect trap.
Instead, the trap disappeared.

When all thousand guests including three agents from the very agency that planned the operation vanish without a trace, the world has a collective meltdown. The media is having a field day, conspiracy theories are multiplying by the hour, and somewhere out there, an entire intelligence agency is desperately trying to answer one very inconvenient question:

How exactly do you lose a thousand people?

Meanwhile, Zaylani, Kailea, and Esmeray have a slightly more pressing problem. They're trapped somewhere they definitely weren't supposed to be, surrounded by strangers, with two killers who could look like absolutely anyone. Now, with no backup, no way home, and strict instructions to keep their identities hidden, the three agents must blend in, make questionable decisions, and figure out who they can trust besides themselves.

Because finding the killers was supposed to be the mission.
Finding out where the hell they were was not.
