Letters From The Margravine (An Epistolary)

Even if history forgets my name,
let it at least remember this:

I once stood upon the frontier,
leading the march to the unknown.
the border never fell
-for I held it together until dawn.

I did not forsake my duty to the threshold.
I did not succumb to any silver or gold.
I did not surrender.
It was simply...a war with no winner.
