Fallon Smith thought renting an apartment in Atlanta after college with her friends and pursuing her dream career as a death investigator was the brightest idea she'd ever had. She moved away from home and while she missed her Dad and Step-Mom, she couldn't deny that everything had fallen into place; perfect friends, perfect apartment, perfect job. . .

Of course it had to be too good to be true. Fallon knew that. But she wasn't expecting the pin in her perfect bubble to be an outbreak that effectively ended the world as she knew it. She still had her friends, and as they world ended she gained a group of strangers-turned-family. The perfect apartment turned into a camp, a tent, a car, a patch of dirt on the side of the road, anywhere she could rest her head, really. And her perfect job? Well, Fallon wasn't exactly an investigator anymore, but she was still surrounded by the dead. The only difference now was that instead of being on an autopsy table they were walking down the street beside her.

Instead of investigating them, Fallon was trying to survive them. The hardest part was not losing herself while she did it.
