Where My Loyalty Lies

Ny never had to be in the streets to understand the rules of them.

The people she loves made sure of that.

She knows when not to ask questions. Knows some names aren't meant to be repeated. Knows loyalty can keep you protected just as easily as it can put you in the middle of something you never signed up for.

And Ny has always been loyal.

Maybe a little too loyal.

Especially when it comes to JB.

Her first love. Her first kiss. Her first time. Her first real heartbreak.

JB was the one who ended them, but somehow they never completely ended. Years later, the anger has settled, the heartbreak doesn't sting like it used to, and they've found their way into an awkward kind of friendship. Ny swears that's all it is now.

Then Khai comes along.

Quiet where JB is loud. Calculated where JB is impulsive. The kind of man who doesn't have to announce what he's capable of because everybody around him already knows.

Khai doesn't mind Ny having a past.

What he minds is realizing her past still has access to her.

And when problems in the streets start pulling Khai deeper into a situation Ny was never supposed to be part of, JB becomes the one person who refuses to stand back and watch it happen.... even if protecting Ny means going directly against the man she's starting to fall for.

Now old feelings are being questioned, new feelings are getting too deep, and lines that were once clear are disappearing.

Because JB knows the version of Ny that Khai never met.

Khai is becoming the man JB never got the chance to be for her.

And Ny is about to learn that when everybody around you believes loyalty means choosing a side, loving two people in two completely different ways can make you dangerous to both.
