Rose had known Roger her entire life. Of course, she had-he was her twin brother. And then there was Jack Merridew. Their parents had been best friends for years, so Rose and Jack had practically grown up together. Same school, same friends, countless afternoons spent side by side. He was her best friend-the person she trusted most. Alice and Jane had become part of their little group too, making school life feel familiar and ordinary.

Until one flight changes everything.

When Rose, Roger, Jack, Alice, Jane, and the other boys find themselves stranded on an uninhabited island, everything they knew about home suddenly feels impossibly far away. At first, surviving seems almost like an adventure. But the longer they stay, the more the island begins to change them. Rose starts seeing a side of Jack she's never known. Roger becomes harder to recognize. Alice and Jane are forced to adapt to a world where the rules they grew up with no longer seem to matter. And somewhere between trying to survive and trying to get home, Rose begins to realize that her friendship with Jack might not be just a friendship anymore. Because getting off the island might be impossible.

And making it out unchanged might be even harder...
