**Vesper Vee**
Vesper is seventeen years old with a sharp, serious look. She has long dark hair that she keeps tied back in a tight ponytail so it stays out of her face when she runs. She usually wears plain dark athletic clothes and never wastes money on flashy gear.
Vesper is quiet, sarcastic, and stays away from crowd drama. She works super hard because she feels like she has to prove herself to everyone. She rarely smiles at school, but she is fiercely loyal to the few people she actually lets into her life.

**Chloe Cameron**
Chloe is seventeen and full of hyper energy. She has bright, expressive eyes and light hair that is always slipping out of her messy bun. She loves wearing neon colors to practice, especially pink.
Chloe talks fast, laughs at her own jokes, and loves snacks like burritos and candy after a hard workout. On the outside, she seems totally laid-back and happy. But on the inside, she worries a lot about failing and just wants to make her family proud.

When their coach forces them into the same relay team, sparks fly immediately. Vesper just wants Chloe to shut up and run. Chloe just wants Vesper to stop acting so cold. But when high-stakes races, family pressure, and a bad track injury push both girls to their limits, they have to figure out what really matters.
Can two total opposites cross the finish line without destroying each other first?
