Jablonné v Podještědí. Prosinec. Hledání práce. Daniel žije v malém severočeském městě, pomáhá rodičům v jejich obchodě a zároveň se snaží najít vlastní cestu. Když se objeví místo průvodce na nedalekém zámku Lemberk, připraví se na pohovor možná až příliš dobře. Nastuduje si místo, staré fotografie i jednotlivé předměty a se svolením si během návštěvy pořídí video. Do práce nakonec nenastoupí. A krátce nato zjistí, že jeho pečlivost může vypadat úplně jinak, když se na ni někdo začne dívat jako na důkaz. Po Vánocích prodělá Daniel covid a úplně ztratí čich i chuť. Později se přesune dál - a do jeho života vstoupí muž, o kterém si začne myslet, že ho dokáže přečíst dokonale.
