It's been 12 years since the events of Pokémon Journeys. Ash has lost his title as Monarch of the World Coronations Series and hasn't been seen since. Serena has become Kalos Queen and a two-time Top Coordinator but wants to see the person she loves most again and confess her feelings, despite Ash being dense when it comes to romantic love. Now, as an adult in her late 20s, Serena finds her chance when two major competitions, the Pokémon Champion of Champions League and the Grand Festival World Series, are taking place in the city of Evig Sigr in the artificial region of Herløv.
Along the way, she befriends Ash's old traveling companion, Dawn, another trainer named Timothy, a mysterious woman covering half of her face with a blindfold named Drazzema, and ultimately reunites with Ash. Together, they go on adventures, solve a mystery, and compete in the tournaments. All the while, Serena tries to help Ash understand love, while romance roams around their friends and enemies.
The broad strokes of the story are based on my favorite western film, the 1985 movie Silverado.
