Full disclosure...

I wrote this story years ago during the 1980s when still in college. It started as a class journaling project. As disclosed in the story, the writing was motivated when I attended Kim's wedding, the friend from the story who was Vickie's roommate and, to this day, her lifelong friend. There were recent tweaks made to the content, near its end, that were influenced by the style of a favorite author, Sam Shepard.

In general, the story is about those moments in life that shape us and is a journey through young love.
