My Janey

Janey May has spent most of her life behind the counter at Little Joey's, a weathered diner tucked away in the sleepy town of Willowmere. She waits tables, tends the bar, and knows every local by name.

But Janey has never wanted to stay.

She dreams of college-not necessarily for the education, but for the freedom. For somewhere beyond Willowmere, where nobody knows her and she can finally become someone else.

Then Jon Bernthal comes home.

A former soldier with a reputation for being cold, grumpy, and impossible to read, Jon has always belonged to Willowmere. He knows its streets, its secrets, and everyone who lives within them. He disappears when he wants to, returning only when he needs something the outside world can't give him.

This time, he finds Janey.

Twenty-seven years separate them. He knows he shouldn't look at her the way he does.
