He loved her enough to leave.
She loved him too much to forgive him.

Kaden Night was raised among marble estates, loaded guns, and men who mistook cruelty for power.

Barry Hayes never made that mistake.

For nearly five years, he worshipped her in the only ways he understood-with bloodied knuckles, possessive hands, and her name permanently carved into his skin.

Then his addiction consumed him.

To save Kaden from becoming collateral damage, Barry destroyed the one thing she would never willingly abandon.

Them.

He told her he hated her.
He told her he had never loved her.
He made certain she believed every word.

But when Kaden's father dies and she is forced to spend six weeks in Italy with the man who shattered her, the truth begins bleeding through the cracks.

Barry is sober now.

He still carries her purse beside his gun.
Still remembers exactly how she takes her coffee.
Still has her name tattooed down his ribs.

And somewhere inside his safe waits the engagement ring he bought before he ruined everything.

Kaden may still love him.

That doesn't mean she forgives him.

Because some love stories are soft.

Theirs has always come with teeth.
