Dr. Astrid's Neural Canvas.

This is a real time, ongoing account drawn from a relationship that began in March this year (2026), in New York, between a neurosurgeon (who just turned 40) and me (allow me to call myself "Brett"), a biomedical engineer twelve years younger.

For a long time the story belonged only to the two us: Dr. Astrid (obviously not her real name 😉), a neurosurgeon, whose authority never required volume, and me...Brett, a younger biomedical engineer who discovered that understanding the brain did not prepare me for the way one person could quietly restructure another's will.

It began unexpectedly outside New York's Mount Sinai hospital, and has continued  through operating rooms and research labs, through private apartments and the charged spaces between words  - into a relationship defined by her leadership and my willing surrender.

What started as an unplanned meeting has continued quietly, deliberately  into the present. The chapters are being written as my life itself unfolds...
