BETWEEN US

A summer on the Outer Banks has always felt infinite for Leara.

Between shady docks, loud parties and the usual island rules, there was always a reliable constant for them: Rafe Cameron.
He is her best friend, the one who understands her without words, makes her angry in seconds and makes her laugh again the next moment.

But this summer, dark clouds will move over the coast. While the pressure of his father's expectations pushes Rafe further and further to the edge of the abyss, the dynamics between him and Leara also begin to shift dangerously. A casual sentence, a too long touch and glances that reveal far too much: Suddenly, the unwritten limit of their friendship is at stake.

Leara has to ask herself how well she really understands the boy she has known since childhood - and whether she is willing to risk everything when familiarity suddenly becomes a desire that neither of them can ignore.
