The Artificer's Guard

In the soot-choked lower districts of a magitech metropolis, brilliant artificer Kaia lives for dark tech and volatile thrills. Sharp-tongued, quick on her feet, and unpredictable as a live grenade, she runs an underground workshop cracking illegal relics. But when a bleeding smuggler drops an ancient Deadlands transponder onto her workbench, Kaia stumbles into a high-tier coordinate map that leads directly to an untouched Old World vault buried in the wilderness.
Enter Varrek. At two meters tall, the rugged perimeter enforcer and heavy-rig mechanic is as unyielding as the steel armor he welds. Soot-stained, grumpy, and fiercely possessive, Varrek has zero intention of letting his favorite nightmare march off into a frozen, monster-infested wasteland alone. If she's heading into the Deadlands, it's in his armored rig, under his watch, and strictly under his protection.
Trapped together in the tight, rumbling cabin of a heavy siege machine, the forced proximity turns the cold wasteland scorching hot. Kaia takes every opportunity to push his buttons, while Varrek takes every chance to mark his territory and keep her safe. But as ancient secrets unravel and dark horrors hunt them through the mist, the real danger isn't the wilderness-it's the explosive spark waiting to detonate between them.
