Why Me?

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE. NOW." I currently cannot breathe listening to my father's words. All I wanted was to be loved by my own dad yet here I am. I stand there frozen, not by choice, though, because I don't think I could move if I tried.

"BITCH WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE I TOLD YOU TO FUCK OFF", the only thing I feel is his fist against my eye, although it doesn't hurt too bad for some reason. Next thing I know, he is carrying me by the shoulders and dragging me out of the house and the first real pain I feel is him throwing me onto the road and feeling the impact as I hit the pavement.

"GOOD, NOW STAY THERE". And he's gone back inside, while I lay on the street unable to move.

I don't know how or why but I am not crying. Maybe I just can't feel the tears, but I don't think I am. I hear a car driving on the street and pulling into the house next to mine. They're home. He's home. I hear a voice. It's repeating something. I recognize it pretty quickly. Him. He is saying "Oh my god" over and over again.

"Alora, can you hear me?"I try to smile slightly and nod but I feel very weak. Then he scoops me into his arms like I weigh nothing. I try to open my eyes to confirm the face, and while looking at him I notice he's crying.

"You can't cry for me." I say, my voice is so weak I can't tell if he would be able to hear me.
