Jablonné v Podještědí. December. Job hunting.
Daniel lives in a small town in northern Bohemia, helping his parents in their shop while trying to find a path of his own. When a position as a guide at nearby Lemberk Castle opens up, he may prepare for the interview a little too thoroughly. He researches the place, old photographs, and individual artefacts-and, with permission, films the site during his visit.
He does not get the job. Shortly afterward, he discovers that his meticulousness can look very different when someone begins to see it as evidence.
After Christmas, Daniel catches COVID and loses his sense of smell and taste completely. Later, he moves on-and a man enters his life whom he begins to believe he can read perfectly.
