Another Pair of Eyes

[08/17/1956]

It was a warm afternoon. Food was already set on the table. A birthday cake was right in the middle and Y/n was sitting right in front of it. His entire family was gathered around the table, singing him happy birthday with bright smiles on their faces.

"... And happy birthday to you~"

Y/n leaned over and blew the candles before the others clapped. His little sister ran to his side and asked with a big smile on her face,

"What did you wish for, Y/n?"

"Hm... But I can't tell because if I do it won't happen!"

He reached out to pat Sherry's hair before their mother stood up and walked over to them both.

"Why don't you both start eating, hm? You two wouldn't want to eat it when it's cold~"

"Okay!"

Their father on the other hand heard a knock and went over to check the front door. Y/n and Sherry immediately grabbed their plates and immediately started chowing down.

"Who's at the door, Pat?"

"I don't know!"

As soon as Patrick opened the door, a loud bang went off and he collapsed on the floor. That was all that Y/n could remember that day, the last day his family was whole.
