Peonies in the South

Sixteen years ago, a little girl left Chang'an,
for the distant Kingdom of KwaMacingwana.
Before she departed, she made a promise
beneath the glow of a rabbit lantern.

She forgot.
He never did.

While Duke Jiang Xinran spent sixteen years guarding a childhood promise, Xie Yinhua grew up across the sea as a Xhosa princess with no memory of the boy she had promised to marry.

When fate finally brings her back to Chang'an, forgotten memories begin to stir among peonies, rabbit lanterns, jasmine cakes, and a room preserved exactly as she left it.

But some people have waited too long to surrender what they believe should have been theirs.

As old enemies emerge, hidden conspiracies unfold, and two worlds collide, Yinhua must discover whether love can survive sixteen years of silence...

and whether a promise remembered by only one heart can still change two nations forever.

Some promises outlive memory.

A forgotten promise. A love that waited.

Time took her memory. It never took his love.

She forgot the past.
The past remembered her.

Sixteen years could not undo one childhood promise.

Across sixteen years. Across two worlds. One promise endured.
