The Gritting Dark

People have begun to disappear.

No bodies are ever found. No explanation is ever given. Only the chaos left behind remains-enough to fuel rumours of demons lurking beyond the reach of civilisation.

But rumours are not evidence.

Or so Tyane tells herself when she is summoned to the Imperial Palace and offered a place in a newly formed force tasked with investigating the disappearances.

She expects criminals. Conspirators. Perhaps even a few fanatics hiding behind old superstitions.

She does not expect the rumours to be true.

As Tyane and her new companions follow a trail of blood beneath the Empire, they uncover something far older and far more terrifying than anyone imagined. And the deeper they go, the harder it becomes to distinguish the monsters from the people who serve them.

Because some things are better left buried.

And some myths were never myths at all.
