Asymptote- a line that continually approaches a given curve but does not meet it at any finite distance.

“A what?”
“This. Us.”
“I’m still not fully comprehending how we relate to a supernova.”
“A supernova is a star that suddenly increases greatly in brightness because of a catastrophic explosion that ejects most of its mass. We’re burning much too bright to last. We simply cannot deny the laws of physics.”
“Holden, the laws of astrophysics don’t apply to us.”
“Autumn, this isn’t going to last.”
“Stop.”
“We’re bound to explode.”

Cassiopeia tries her very hardest to hide her crush from the glasses eyed boy. That isn't the case for Richie, though his crush on the girl only started in the sixth grade, he flirts with her at any chance he's get's. Which isn't much, due to their completely separate lives. A great prophecy proclaims that only "one of light, and one of dark" can save the universe from the dictatorship of The Node. That can't be Potto and Aye...Potto doesn't know what the word prophecy means, and neither know how to spell it. Part sci-fi epic, part absurd dark comedy, I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room is a comment on human behavior, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. But way more fun than that sounds.
