His only light

Ziyu had always believed that kindness was simple.
At eighteen, he finds an injured stranger on a lonely road and helps him without asking who he is. He doesn't know the man belongs to a world where trust is dangerous, mercy is weakness, and people disappear without a trace.
To Ziyu, it was just one small act of kindness.
To the stranger, it was everything.
After that night, Ziyu begins noticing things he can't explain-someone watching from the shadows, doors that suddenly won't open, people who seem afraid to come near him, and a growing sense that he's being kept away from the rest of the world.
The man insists it's for Ziyu's safety.
But protection can become a cage when someone is too afraid to let go.
And the more Ziyu learns about the man he saved, the harder it becomes to tell where gratitude ends... and obsession begins.
