Reasonable Doubt

Jane Joanna Mercer has spent nine years believing one version of the worst night of her life.

Then she finds the case file.

According to the records, her assault was never solved. The man everyone blamed was never charged. A witness remembers something that does not fit. A timestamp is wrong. And the closer JJ looks, the less certain she is that the story she remembers is the story that actually happened.

Unfortunately, she has recently transferred to the CBI - which means investigating it with Patrick Jane somewhere nearby.

Jane is brilliant, intrusive, impossible to manage, and far too interested in anything JJ would prefer to leave alone.

She wants facts.

He wants to know what she is hiding.

And somewhere between murder cases, bad alibis, old evidence and nine years of unanswered questions, Patrick Jane is becoming an entirely separate problem.
