It wasn't bad enough that Ben was homeless. Having a dead family nearly killed him before. Until he learned to live alone on the docks and streets, scavenging for food and supplies just to stay alive. He was actually doing well. Then, he saw the bodies washed up on the beach. All were dead except for one: a young boy like him. As they were meeting, they saw the other dead bodies... walk. How was this possible? They were already dead... but now they're walking. Look, just, don't ask, ok? It's just a terrible first story of a thing I'm obsessed with on the side. Edit: under editing to make it easier to read

It all happened in one day. The nuclear explosion. The gas spilling out of the nuclear plant and poisoning people. The gas moving over the grave yard and the dead popping out a couple minutes later. People eating others. It's so much. I don't know if I will be able to survive.

Welcome to hell. Remember that one expression your friends used to exclude someone? "Avoid him like a plague." They said and you all just laughed along, stupidly. Now, as the years roll on and hits 2020, how are you supposed to shun the invasion if you're in the middle? It doesn't matter who you were, who you are. You aren't looked upon for your grades nor skills to play basketball, you're respected for your ability to survive and keep those around you alive. Survive the uncivil madness now erupting into the Earth's simple ways, keep your head together, keep the panic down.

There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Oh, and zombies. Zombies is definitely on that list. It's almost a shame too, that I have to race through a city packed full of them to find my missing family. Packed full of zombies, by the way, not crocks. (Although I don't know which situation is worse.) Now I have to not only keep my feeble body alive, but also protect (or be protected by) my two best friends in the entire world as we all try to survive in a city packed with the Dead.
