One night of monsters and bloodshed leaves her peaceful life shattered and her best friend at death's door. And when one of the Fae offers to save her friend- for a price, of course- Brin accepts... then steals a relic from the creature and runs for her life.

But escaping a relentless monster isn't easy, especially when said monster keeps appearing in her dreams. And if that wasn't bad enough, bargaining with a Fae is a crime punishable by death... and Brin's only protection on the road is a ruthless, frustratingly attractive mercenary who just knows she's hiding something.
