To Peter, Vesper is simply another enhanced threat connected to HYDRA: unpredictable. Extremely powerful. Capable of manipulating the shadows around him, even traveling through them.
And, most concerningly, Very. Fucking. Unstable.

Vesper, on the other hand, is used to hunting people. He reads movement exceptionally well, anticipates reactions, and uses fear against his targets. Peter's spider-sense completely disrupts that advantage. He avoids attacks he shouldn't even know are coming. But, instead of becoming frustrated, Vesper becomes absolutely fucking delighted.
