Nightmare of Halloween

(A Halloween-Inspired Fanfiction Anthology)

Welcome to Nightmare of Halloween-a reimagining of the classic slasher archetype, inspired by the enduring legacy of Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise. This is not a retelling of the same story. This is something new. Something different. Something that breathes its own life into the mask.

At the heart of this nightmare is Ellis Vance-an eighteen-year-old young man who never asked to be different, but who has carried the weight of difference his entire life.

Born biologically male, Ellis's body was permanently altered during childhood by a corporate water contamination accident. A massive leak of synthetic estrogen into Veridian City's water supply disrupted his natural development, leaving him with a soft, feminine appearance and physical characteristics that do not match his gender identity. He has breasts. He has delicate features. His voice sits in an androgynous register that makes strangers pause and stare.

But Ellis is not a girl. He has never been a girl. He is a boy who looks like something else-a boy trapped in a body that the world refuses to see clearly.

Despite this, Ellis is wholesome. He is cheerful. He is kind. He is lazy in the most endearing way, content to drift through life on a current of family love and simple pleasures. He has a family who adores him-parents Daniel and Margaret, older siblings Clara and Marcus, and a younger brother Toby who idolizes him. He has friends who accept him for who he is.

He is ordinary. He is loved. He is happy.

And then Halloween comes.

Nightmare of Halloween is not a single story. It is an anthology of nightmares-multiple timelines, multiple iterations, multiple versions of Ellis and the horror he becomes. Each timeline explores a different origin, a different transformation, a different mask. Some are grounded in science. Some delve into the supernatural. Some touch the cosmic and incomprehensible.
