In one timeline, Humanity was a relatively weak, if adaptable, people. They would be thrust onto the galactic stage with a first contact war no one really won, and would carry resentment over it for decades. In this timeline however, Humanity makes a chance discovery in the early 2100's that changes the foundation of their society, and catapults them into the space age nearly a full century early. What would such an event do to such an adaptable civilization, and what effects would such a change have on the galaxy?
