The Crown of the Broken Sky

Emperor Orren IV is dead, leaving behind an empire, seventeen bonded dragons, and two heirs with legitimate claims to the throne.

As Princess Maeryn Vaelisar and her cousin Caelan are pulled toward civil war, old rebellions awaken, faith divides, and dragons become weapons in a conflict that could destroy the realm.

But the struggle for the crown is only the beginning.

Maeryn, a Sahraini spy named Ysara, and a scholar-priest called Edran begin dreaming memories from lives they never lived-visions connected to the Sundering, the ancient catastrophe that shattered the world and brought dragons into it.

Eight hundred years later, something buried beneath Edrath is waking again.

And the three people being drawn toward it may not be destined to save the world.

They may be the reason it broke.
