"The Poems I Could Never Read to You"

The Poems I Could Never Read to You

Some people enter our lives like a season.

They arrive quietly, change everything, and leave before we understand how deeply they touched us.

Ethan never asked Elena for forever.

He only wanted a little more time.

A few more conversations.
A few more walks.
A few more moments where her smile made the world feel strangely quiet.

He loved her silently, carefully, almost fearfully.

But sometimes love isn't defeated by another person.

Sometimes, it is defeated by timing, distance, circumstances, and all the words we were too afraid to say.

When Elena finally walks away from his life, Ethan is left with nothing he can hold onto except memories.

So he begins to write.

Every night, he turns another memory into a poem.

A poem about the first time she smiled at him.

A poem about the day she stopped waiting.

A poem about the message he wrote but never sent.

A poem about watching someone become a stranger while still remembering exactly how they used to laugh.

And somewhere between those poems, Ethan realizes something painful:

He wasn't writing because he expected Elena to come back.

He was writing because there were feelings inside him that had nowhere else to go.

This is not simply a story about losing someone.

It is the story of a boy who learns to turn his silence into words.

And perhaps, years later, Elena may finally read the poems he could never read to her.

But by then...

the poems will no longer be asking her to stay.

They will simply be saying goodbye.
