Just A Boy with a Big Heart

Sometimes the people who love us have to remind us of who we really are.

Sixteen-year-old Jeremiah has always found comfort in music. As an autistic teenager, the world can sometimes become overwhelming, but music gives him a place where he can feel understood. His biggest inspiration is R&B singer Jayden, whose music has become a special part of his life.

After an unforgettable sixteenth birthday where Jeremiah meets Jayden and her brother Mario, he thinks the hardest part of being sixteen is behind him.

Then school happens.

When David, a student who has repeatedly bullied Jeremiah, pushes his words too far, Jeremiah reaches his breaking point. One confrontation turns physical, leaving Jeremiah hurt, overwhelmed, and questioning everything he thought he knew about himself.

But the physical bruises aren't the deepest wounds.

David's words begin playing over and over in Jeremiah's mind until he starts believing them. He begins wondering if he's really weird, annoying, difficult, or a problem. He even starts wishing he could be "normal" and questioning the very things that make him who he is.

As Jeremiah struggles to find his way through the pain, his family refuses to let him face it alone.

Rebecca, Liam, and Kennedy have to do more than simply tell Jeremiah that they love him. They have to show him-especially when he can't believe them.

And with Jayden and Mario unexpectedly becoming part of Jeremiah's support system, Jeremiah may slowly discover something more important than being accepted by everyone else:

He has to learn to accept himself, too.

A story about autism, bullying, family, music, friendship, healing, and the power of being seen and loved exactly as you are.
