Hitting the Brakes

Cami Nelson is just a girl from Michigan who came to Briar University for one simple reason: to get as far away from her past as possible.

After a brutal breakup a month before starting back at college, Cami has sworn off anything resembling a serious relationship. Love, as far as she's concerned, is overrated-and she has absolutely no intention of letting another guy turn her life upside down.

Then her car breaks down.

The mechanic who comes to her rescue is John Logan, Briar's star hockey player and one of the most recognizable guys on campus. Logan is charming, confident, and exactly the kind of trouble Cami promised herself she'd avoid.

Unfortunately, he's also impossible to ignore.

What starts as a chance meeting at the auto shop quickly turns into an unexpected friendship. And when Cami decides that maybe a little fun is exactly what she needs to get over her ex, Logan seems like the perfect choice.

No commitment. No expectations. No falling in love.

Just two college students having a good time and agreeing that neither of them wants anything serious.

But rules have a funny way of becoming complicated when feelings get involved.

Cami came to Briar to escape the life she left behind. She never expected that the one person who could make her want to stay would be the hockey player she was determined not to fall for.
