Because of a nuclear accident, people were infected with a disease that didn’t kill or harm them, but gave them a curse. Men and women were randomly transforming into various weapons for no apparent reason and burning those who weren’t infected with an unintentional touch. These people were rounded up then tested on for months, before integrated back into regular society, where their population rapidly increased.
Years later and everyone is infected. The ice deep in the north has melted to reveal a new world hidden under the ice. Before less than a month passed, the virus had spread to a graveyard in the hidden grottos of the Yukon. This virus, now able to think from the new minds of fresh bodies, can strategize. In only another week, the epidemic had spread to the northern edge of the United States. Spreading further and further in, people began to notice this strange happening. From people disappearing to entire towns popping out of existence, the bacteria continued to spread. To keep order, the governments had those who disappeared erased from existence, but it wasn't enough. The takeover of those long gone happened in less than three weeks and society collapsed. Spreading overseas, it began its removal of life in Europe, but that's a story for another day. We now come to those few remaining settlements in the collapsed U.S, now called The Crumbled Land. They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know!
