"Where is Gai Sensei." I demended feeling worried about this poor village.

"Probably trying to spread the word of youthfulness." Tenten said. "You really don't have anything to eat do you." She said.

I sighed. "Great I'm going to be living in a village with a ninja like guy. I'm going to shave his freaking eyebrow." I said rubbing my forehead.

"Good luck with that." Tenten said moving to my fridge.

"There's a place down the road Tenten. It serves the best food there is." I told her.

"Really where." I laughed as I told her the directions.

I looked towards Neji and felt my cheeks start to heat up. "Aren't you going to go with her to get food." I asked him.

"Why would I do that. We're still on a mission and seeing as your coming back with us it isn't over yet." He said.

"Ugh and I going to be living in a village with a mister know it all." I said throwing my arms in the air walking towards my bedroom door to get the little that I had.

Sakura Haruno, the squad's original ninja medic has departed the village for several years in order to receive training in the Hidden Sand Village. Katsu, Sakura's replacement, has a lot to learn about being a successful Jonin. But can she handle her first mission as one? It becomes more than an ordinary mission when Katsu comes across three young children, each of them with distinct, striking features. Each of them claim to be either the children or siblings of original Naruto villains. Can Katsu and Kakashi train them to become ninjas who instead fight for the good of what's in their hearts? Sasuke Uchiha, an ex-member of Squad Seven and also Katsu's ex-boyfriend, is growing stronger under Orochimaru's teaching. Will Katsu, Kakashi, and Naruto be able to succeed in capturing him and returning him to the Leaf Village after years of being gone? Or will the mission result differently? Is it possible that Katsu's secret dream of becoming the next Hokage could ever turn into a reality? The Memory Keeper (Naruto Fanfic) by slasheRR

The bandages that covered his face in life have fallen away, all incinerated and hanging loosely around his neck. His face is completely destroyed. Unrecognizable. The skin covering his face is no longer there, all having melted away. His blood vessels have all burst, his nerves have fried along with the majority of his muscles. His jaw opens and closes a little bit. His eyes bore into me. They're large and round and completely accusing. His teeth are covered in bits of burnt muscle. I feel my heart thudding in my chest. He steps closer, closer. His bone gleams in the dim light. As he closes in on me, a pounding noise begins ringing through my ears. My heart beat- ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. It looked like he had been tossed into a fryer, fried alive, and he had been. By me. I did this to someone. I killed someone's team mate, someone's son. I killed someone's important person. -- Kimiko Kioku, a memory keeper. Never forgets anything, always notices, from the exact way the wind blew her hair against her face to coloring with her brother at five to the lullaby her mother would sing to her as she rocked her when she was not even a year old. She remembers. She remembers the blood, the glassy, clouded over eyes her brother had as he said his last words. She remembers the very first person she killed. She remembers how abandoned she feels, and how everything always feels like it's falling apart at the seams. (Can you say 'worst summary ever to exist'? Okay, maybe not that bad. But still pretty bad.)

What is a Shinobi? Misaki often finds herself questioning that. From a small village, she had no choice but to become a ninja. Her leader needed her skills... but she wanted nothing more than to lead a normal life. Ninja from her small village die on missions and when she requests a leave, she's sent out of the village instead. How will she do when she is assigned a mission to Konoha? Will a certain ANBU change her mind about the Shinobi world, in spite of his own hatred for this life as well? What will happen when a strange figure saves Misaki's life then offers her a deal down a dark, unknown path? 《★☆★☆★》 ≪This story explores the world of Naruto, starting just before his birth. Drawing parallels from Kakashi's life to Misaki's, it narrows in on friendship, confusion, betrayal, hatred, and what it truly means to be a Shinobi.≫ 『Excerpt from the story:』 "...what does it mean to be a Shinobi in this village? Just to die... be killed without reason. It's all so pointless." His eyes shimmer with pain. I know the look as I have seen it on myself in the mirror. His voice has lost its lazy monotone and is spiked with emotion I never thought the ANBU was capable of. "Ninja don't die for no reason... they live to die for the ones they care about... to protect their village and-" the last word is barely audible, "-comrades." He leaves without another word, sliding his ANBU mask on and disappearing into the night air. Had I said something wrong? 《★☆★☆★》
