"I bet you I can make this 3," I say, figuring he'd be just like my best guy friend, Joey.
"Olivia, I know you can make those all day long, but can you dunk?" he asks smirking.
I stared into those dark brown eyes, hoping that he wouldn't go through with the bet. "Looks like we have some work to do," he says, taking the ball out of my hands into his.
Olivia Johnson has always been the star of the team. Same for Malachi. Both have always had to scrimmage each other, or demonstrate for the team. In the world of romance, they would have been the perfect couple since the day they met in 9th grade. In real life, they have been competition. For her, he's only a distraction. Only some people don't take no for an answer.
