Adam Costanza was raised for emergencies no ordinary teenager should ever have to face.
Since childhood, his father has trained him to observe, fight, lie, disappear, and survive. The rules were simple.
Protect the family. Reveal nothing. Control your emotions. Know when to act.
The rules are called the Tenets, and Adam has followed them for as long as he can remember.
Then his father leaves town.
With only the Tenets to guide him, Adam and his brother begin asking questions they were never supposed to ask and using skills nobody knows they possess.
Adam was trained to solve dangerous problems.
Nobody trained him to decide which problems were his to solve.
