Ethan Cole is a forensic science graduate student in Boston. He trusts evidence, logic, and science-and has never believed in anything that cannot be explained.

Until he touches a murder victim.

For a brief moment, Ethan sees something that isn't his memory: a room, a terrified face, a voice, and the final seconds before death.

He tells himself it was a hallucination. Then another murder happens.

This time, the memory is clearer.

As Ethan begins using these impossible visions to uncover the truth, he discovers that the victims are connected by something hidden beneath the surface of each crime.
