The breeze was rippling gently, rustling my hair with only the lightness a mother could give. Comfort, in the moment where its collision with the tears streaming down my face chilled me to the bone. The lump in my throat, something that I was desperately trying to rid, blocked the million apologies running around my head. "I'm sorry," I finally choked up. I looked up from the blades of grass to quickly see his reaction. He didn't answer. He didn't even look at me. My heart dropped to my shoes, into the ground. I knew that I messed up. After awhile, he quietly said the words he had said so many times, only this time, it felt like a death sentence. "Look up." I did.
