Harry Potter and Aria Westling have never gotten along.

For five years, they've competed over everything-
grades, house points, Quidditch, and absolutely anything else they can turn into a competition. Harry thinks Aria is insufferable. Aria thinks Harry is arrogant.

Neither of them would ever willingly choose the other.

Until Harry loses a bet.

And when Aria becomes the prize, Harry makes a request she can't refuse, pretend to be his girlfriend.

It's only supposed to be a game. A way to make someone jealous. Just a few weeks of holding hands in the corridors, sitting together at meals, and pretending they don't want to hex each other every five minutes.

But there are RULES.

1. Don't catch feelings.
2. Don't get jealous.
3. DONT CATCH FEELINGS.

Simple enough.

Except somewhere between the arguments, the fake smiles, and the moments that start feeling a little too real, Harry and Aria begin to wonder if they're still pretending at all.

Because sometimes the easiest rules to break are the ones you never meant to make.
