Earth didn't get destroyed-it got retrofitted into an intergalactic casino. When an omnipotent alien syndicate known as The House acquires Earth in a cosmic debt settlement, every city on the planet is compressed into a sprawling, multi-tiered orbital gauntlet called The Neon Crucible. The rules of reality are replaced by classic 16-bit video game logic, complete with glowing stat overlays, randomized loot drops, and lethal boss encounters. The entire spectacle is broadcast live across the sector, where trillionaire alien gamblers bet on human survival rates.
The Protagonist: Miller, an overworked audio engineer who was holding a heavy boom mic and a roll of industrial gaffer tape when the sky turned into a loading screen.
The Twist: Through a system error during initialization, Miller's primary weapon slot registers his boom mic as a Frequency Disruptor, allowing him to manipulate environmental sound waves, mute enemy attack cues, and force glitched stat buffs out of the game's audio engine.
He doesn't care about the leaderboard, the galactic sponsors, or the high scores. He just wants to climb to the top tier, break the broadcast relay, and force The House to pay out.

I sharply mocked him, "to..." But it was too late, he marched towards me with long strides.
