The Weight of Broken Glass

Celia Hughs. A 20 year old girl whose only responsibility is to take care of her two younger brothers. Ever since Celia was in middle school her father had fallen under alcohol to deal with the pain of losing their mother. Celia works two jobs non-stop to pay for school, bills, and groceries. She has trouble navigating her restless days and her brother's underground fighting addiction. Zeke has been underground fighting ever since he was in high school. He uses it to cure his anger and hatred towards his father even though Celia has tried countless times to make him quit.

Vincent McCallum. A 22 year old full-time underground boxer and Zeke's rival. We don't know much of his past. He lets no one get in his way or tell him what to do or be better than him. He's popular among the boxer community. As in, he's feared by many. He can walk into any place and have all eyes on him. Celia sees him as an obnoxious nuisance who is antagonizing Zeke, which causes him to keep fighting.

The two cross paths unexpectedly. Celia's first impression of Vincent was arrogant, naive, and obnoxious. But as the two continue to have coincidental meetings, Celia begins to open up her heart and the weight she carries.
