"If this isn't happiness, I don't know if I'll ever find it."

The flowers decayed and she watched as the memory of him decayed with them.

Mia and Daniel were once happy, until he lost his job and then his mother. Turning to alcohol, Daniel became abrasive and closed off, eventually leading to verbal and physical abuse.

One Tuesday, a bouquet of liles was left on Mia's porch. Then a letter. Then, Daniel was gone. Standing on the brink, the edge, her roots took hold of the ground and budded without him. She finds independence on her own terms.

Until Mia's past begins to catch up to her.

"Withering Lonesome" is a story of abuse and independence.

What the Silences Know

43 parts Complete Mature

Two souls. Each carrying a past too heavy to name. Neither ever taught how to love- only how to survive. Fate didn't ask. It simply brought them together. And for a moment, under soft laughter and starlit glances, they bloomed. It was their moon of blossom. Surrounded by chaos, comfort, and friends who made everything feel a little more possible. But still- A love, when built on pain, Can be uncertain. Was it truly love? Or just the blind leading the blind? Yet- No storm stays. Even the sky remembers how to shine. Only the silences know.
