An ancient war. A long-told prophecy. A cursed inheritance. If you were destined to die, how would you choose to live? Between the shadows of the human world, a war as old as time is being fought. Ageless pantheons scheme to obtain or keep control, provoked by the weight of human belief which has altered the realm of the divine. An ancient prophecy speaks of a human woman who will alter the course of this divine war, a descendant of a Great House mired in misfortune and blood, whose history was shaped by the cruelty of the gods. On a day as unremarkable as any other, Elena Vicens, a young woman living a seemingly ordinary life, receives a letter about a deposit box belonging to her mother, nineteen years after her mother’s death. When this letter sends her on a journey halfway across the world from New Orleans to Japan, Elena unknowingly comes into possession of a cursed inheritance. She is suddenly thrust into a world of myths and legends, where the intangible and the strange are the fabric of everyday life, and deathless gods vie for victory at any cost. As allies converge to help Elena fulfill the prophecy, one of whom is struggling with his own inheritance, Elena must choose for herself the measure of her own destiny. * * * Elena's journey in The Butterfly Crest takes place in three major parts, each one introducing the reader to a different type of mythology. This is Part One, called Inheritance, and it takes place mostly in Japan. I'll be updating Part One as an ongoing series. If you like what you read and would like to get ahead (or continue with Parts Two and Three once this part is complete), the book is available in print on Amazon and in ebook format on Amazon, iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo. The ebook is also available on Oyster. Thanks for your support, and Happy Reading!

They say some doors only open once. Luna lied to her father about a research trip to the Philippines. She didn't mention the impossible theory her vanished mother left behind. The pot swallowed her whole. Now she's crawling out of it into pre-colonial Madja-as during a pirate raid, where bodies fall like rain and survival isn't a skill you learn in international schools. The pot won't reopen. Her geometric tattoos burn with power she can't control. And somewhere in this brutal, beautiful world, there's a Keeper she's supposed to find. Except the Keeper is dead. Luna has spent her whole life trusting no one, needing no one, surviving alone. But here, blood soaks into communal earth. Here, warriors die with their crew's names on their lips. Here, villages share their last handful of rice. Isolation isn't strength when survival is measured in how many hands pull you back from the edge. It's extinction. The cosmic layers are fracturing. An ancient god is clawing his way back to power. And the prophecy that dragged her through time demands something she's never learned how to give: trust. She crossed time to find her mother. She found a war, a prophecy, and the reason some people never make it home. 🔗https://open.spotify.com/episode/5Q39SmQjhz2NSrzYz8NUya
