PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE; jean kirstein.

In a world where the safety of humanity is dictated by whether or not you are kept hidden inside a fortress of walls, life is precious.

It cannot be toyed with, or taken for granted, because beyond those walls... terror reigns. One wrong move, and death will be upon you, torn apart and devoured at the hands of titans.
You do not take your life for granted. Nor do you wish to toy with the life that has been bestowed upon you. But you wish for your life to be meaningful. To be impactful. You have always longed to do something good, for the sake of the people inside the walls.

You want to be a Scout.

Despite the protests from your mother and father, both of whom vow to not even associate themselves with you if you join the Scouts. Despite your childhood friend (turned boyfriend...), always telling you that you're stupid for wanting to be a Scout rather than joining the Military Police like he wants to.

It is what you want.

It is what you must do.

If you wish for humanity to thrive and flourish, if you wish to have enough time in your future to marry and have a family someday... it is what you must do to ensure that is possible.
