The Forbidden Love - A DAOUOFFROAD FANFIC

In an ancient realm where mortal monks and celestial fox spirits walk separate worlds, their love was never meant to be.

Kai (Daou) is a devout mortal monk, sworn to silence, purity, and the protection of the sacred temple grounds. His hands are always clasped in prayer, his heart guarded, his life dedicated to the divine order that forbids all attachment - especially to the supernatural. He believes spirits are dangerous, temptations to be cast aside... until he meets Lian.

Lian (Offroad) is a powerful nine-tailed celestial fox spirit, centuries-old, radiant, and forbidden to interact with mortals - let alone give his heart to one. His tails glow with soft, ethereal light, a mark of his divine nature, yet he hides them around humans to avoid fear and rejection. For years he has watched Kai from the shadows, drawn to the monk's quiet goodness and unshakable faith.

Their love is strictly forbidden - by temple law, by celestial decree, and by the fear that their union could unravel the balance between mortal and spirit realms. Kai must choose between his sacred oaths and the one who makes him feel truly alive; Lian must choose between his immortal duty and the mortal who is his soul's match.

As forces conspire to tear them apart - temple elders, jealous spirits, and the very heavens themselves - they discover their bond is not just forbidden... It is destiny. And some loves are worth burning the world for.
