What Comes First

Maybelle Harrow and Lolaline Dupre are trapped inside Saint Mercy Asylum, the oldest institution in Eelridge and a place that has spent decades swallowing suffering whole.

Both girls have already died once.

Maybelle returned bound to the Night Nurse, a nameless Geist shaped by hospital corridors, midnight vigils, and the forgotten dead. Lolaline returned with the Diva, a beautiful, dangerous spirit born from violence, pride, and survival. Together they are Sin-Eaters-living women tethered to the dead, able to see the ghosts Saint Mercy has tried to bury.

But the ghosts are only part of what haunts the asylum.

Behind locked wards, falsified records, cruel treatments, and secret experiments, Saint Mercy has become something more than a building. Years of abuse have soaked into its walls until the institution itself seems hungry, guiding doctors, staff, and patients toward cruelty.

As Maybelle and Lolaline uncover the hospital's secrets, one question follows them deeper into its abandoned wings:

Did evil create Saint Mercy-or did Saint Mercy create the evil inside it?

In Eelridge, some places are haunted by the dead.
