Deadly Sparkles

Every girl at Silvermont Girls' High School has been waiting for Sparkle Night.

It's the seniors' last big party before they leave school. For one night, the rules are relaxed. There are pretty dresses, music, dancing, pictures, and boys from a nearby school are invited to join the celebration. For Adana Johnson, it's supposed to be a night she'll never forget, especially with her best friend Eunice Afful by her side. Instead, Eunice ends the night dead. The school is quick to call it an accident, but Adana isn't convinced. Eunice had been acting strangely for days, and the next morning, Adana found a short recording on her phone. It's Eunice's voice, but the recording is unclear. Most of the words are impossible to make out. Adana can only catch a few words.

Determined to understand what Eunice meant, Adana begins looking into her friend's final days. But the more she asks questions, the more she realizes Eunice had found out something she was never supposed to know.

And soon, Adana must decide if she wants to discover that secret too.
