Eddie has just gotten in a fight with his mom over her giving him gazebo pills. Eddie is fed up with her and runs off into the forest, not knowing a single thing about the outside at all, let alone in a dark forest with not even a flashlight. He didn't know what he would run into... or rather who he would run into.
